Ruby Melbourne: April 2026

I replaced a large dependency, of which we only used a small fraction, that was built on a native extension written in C with a Rust implementation of the bit that we used. This gave us native extension speeds, without having to maintain C code, which we're super unfamiliar with. I'll talk about the gotchas I ran into and where I want to go with things from here.
